- LOCATION - KUALA LUMPUR- HYBRID AS 400 Developer Summary: We are seeking a dedicated AS 400 Developer with 5+ years of experience to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AS 400 system development and be responsible for designing, coding, testing, and implementing robust solutions to meet our business needs.The AS400 developer and Windows application support resource will be working as a member of the FA development team and will be responsible for the delivery of AS400-related development work and Windows application support on an ad-hoc basis. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain AS400 programs as according to business user's requirements. AS400 (IBM iSeries), RPGLE/400, CLP/400 and COBOL/400 programming language, As400/Query, SQL and IBM MQ experience is essential to perform the daily task efficiently Translate requirement into technical document accurately, design and development according to specification, testing & implementation support System maintenance and system support - support system upgrade and fixes, monitor and ensure the system operations as designed, respond to incident and provides resolution, embrace established SDLC to address system change request/enhancement, review of business request and advice on impact, provide timely support to user query and attend to error investigation on modules developed in AS400 and Windows Develop and maintain applications on the AS 400 platform. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and translate business needs into technical specifications. Design and code new programs as well as modify existing programs for enhancements. Perform unit testing and assist in system testing to ensure quality. Provide ongoing maintenance, support, and enhancements in existing systems and platforms. Offer technical support to end-users and create technical documentation for reference and reporting. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in software development on the AS 400 platform. Proficiency in programming languages such as RPG, RPGLE, CL, CLLE, SQLRPGLE, and COBOL. Experience with DB2/400 database and ability to write complex SQL queries. Familiarity with change management tools and version control systems. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Preferred Skills: Experience with CGI CACS system is a plus. Knowledge of BMC Software Control-M for AS 400 batch job automation. Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall development methodologies. Experience in technical documentation and requirement analysis. Strong technical knowledge of CLP, CLLE, RPGLE, COBOL/400 and other iSeries applications Additional knowledge of Windows Server, IIS, Java, Java scripting is required Good understanding of IT Security and experience in handling of API services Competent in PL/SQL DB2 and well-versed with IBM MQ Experience in Utilities and Tool Software - ALDON CMS LMI & LMe, DOS Utility, BMC Control-M and Remedy Possess excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem solving, documentation, communication skills Able to multi-task and switch between various tasks/projects with tight deadlines Powered by JazzHR
